Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Mchenry, IL US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in McHenry, IL, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders in sustainable food systems. By providing a supportive and dynamic learning environment, we empower Fellows to become effective advocates and educators for a just and equitable food system. Our program offers comprehensive training in organic agriculture, allowing participants to engage in hands-on experiences at our Allegheny Farm Campus. During their six-month residency, Fellows will immerse themselves in diverse projects, including growing and distributing crops, managing community gardens, and implementing educational initiatives focused on food and ecological literacy. Each Fellow will also contribute to health-focused programs and help bolster local farmers markets and direct-to-consumer sales. Following their time at the farm, they will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a Community Action Year, collaborating with non-profit organizations to enhance food access and promote community resilience. We prioritize accessibility by offering this Fellowship tuition-free, ensuring that passionate individuals can pursue their goals without financial barriers. Applications are open until March for the experience beginning in May, and we encourage all who are committed to food equity and sustainability to consider joining us.
