The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Gurnee, IL, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for equitable food systems through comprehensive education and hands-on experience. Our program is focused on creating socially, environmentally, and economically just food practices, offering an immersive six-month training at the Allegheny Farm Campus in Highland County, VA, at no cost to participants. Selected Fellows will engage in diverse activities such as growing crops on a market-style farm, implementing innovative health education sessions, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy within schools. More than just a training program, we empower our Fellows to strengthen community food initiatives, mentor future cohorts, and expand access to fresh, healthy produce through farmer's markets and direct-to-consumer channels. Applications are accepted until March, and the fellowship experience typically runs from May to October, fostering a supportive network of change-makers in the food landscape.
