Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Grayslake, IL US
At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Grayslake, IL, we are dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. Our program sponsors, trains, and empowers Fellows to engage in meaningful work that emphasizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our hands-on, six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participants receive comprehensive organic food system education without tuition fees to enhance accessibility. Fellows will have the opportunity to collaborate with local partners to grow and distribute a variety of crops, lead innovative health care educational sessions, and foster food and ecological literacy in schools. Additionally, they will support community-based initiatives such as farmers markets and develop channels to increase access to healthy foods. Following their training, our Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, where they apply their skills in partnership with regional non-profit organizations. We invite passionate individuals to apply by March each year and join us in transforming the food landscape from May to October.
