The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Granite City, IL is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program offers hands-on organic food system education and a supportive environment for Fellows to grow and distribute diverse crops on market-style farms, implement health and wellness initiatives, and integrate food and ecological literacy into community activities. We also facilitate the maintenance of school gardens and the support of local farmers markets, ensuring increased access to healthy foods. Selected Fellows participate in a six-month immersive experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they work alongside regional non-profit organizations to put their training into practice. We strive to make this impactful fellowship accessible, with no tuition charged, encouraging passionate individuals to apply by March for a transformative experience each year from May to October.
