The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Galesburg, IL, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders who advocate for a just food system that prioritizes social equity, environmental sustainability, and economic viability. Through a comprehensive six-month immersive program at the Allegheny Farm Campus, our Fellows receive hands-on training in organic food system education, and they engage in innovative community initiatives such as growing diversified crops, maintaining school gardens, and supporting local farmers markets. This Fellowship emphasizes accessibility by not charging tuition, allowing participants to focus on their development while creating impactful community solutions. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to implement their learning and mentor future cohorts, fostering a vibrant food community in the region. Applications are open until March each year, with the program typically running from May to October.
