Shama Joshi

Shama Joshi, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, is highly dedicated to empowering clients to set treatable goals and foster positive outcomes that help them become contributing members of society. Recognizing that everyone possesses the power for personal growth, Shama believes that sometimes additional support and guidance are essential, which is why they create a safe, nonjudgmental environment for their clients. Their mission is to provide an empathetic and compassionate ear, ensuring undivided attention while building a collaborative therapeutic relationship aimed at achieving shared goals. Shama is experienced in working with all age groups, employing a variety of methods to meet diverse needs. Since 2014, Shama has been a school social worker, specializing in assisting children and adolescents, particularly those engaged in special education services through Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Additionally, Shama has provided crucial care assessments in a hospital setting to individuals facing a spectrum of mental health challenges. Shama holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago, concentrating on Schools and Health.
