Renee Barney

Renee Barney, MA, LCPC, is a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who specializes in working with teens, young adults, and adults to foster healthy change and alleviate stress. Her expertise lies in addressing anxiety, life transitions, and self-esteem, especially for clients who may have experienced Complex Trauma. With a culturally sensitive and trauma-focused approach, Renee gently guides her clients towards greater ease, care, and understanding in their lives. She focuses on strength-building therapy for identity development, encompassing both individual self and aspects of sexual and gender identity. Renee collaborates closely with her clients to process anxiety reduction, as well as navigate grief and trauma when needed. Additionally, she offers support in career development, life transitions, intimate relationships, and self-discovery. Her experience extends to working with individuals who have been parented by or partnered with those exhibiting personality disorders. With her welcoming nature, influenced by her own immigrant background, Renee embraces diversity in her practice. Before her journey as a psychotherapist, she honed her analytical skills as a CPA in law, tax, finance, and accounting, and she is also a proud parent of three children.
