The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Danville, IL, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders committed to creating a just and sustainable food system. Our program empowers Fellows through hands-on training and education at the Allegheny Farm, promoting the principles of social, environmental, and economic justice in food production. We provide an inclusive opportunity to learn about organic farming, food systems education, and innovative community engagement without any tuition costs. Throughout a six-month immersive experience, Fellows engage in diverse initiatives, including growing and distributing crops, developing community gardens, and facilitating educational workshops on food and ecological literacy. After their training, participants embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to enhance food access and support community food initiatives. Interested candidates should apply by March for the program, which typically runs from May to October, as we work together to transform our food landscape.
