Crystal Kannankeril

Crystal Kannankeril, PsyD, is a dedicated Licensed Clinical Psychologist offering individual therapy for late adolescents through older adults. Her therapeutic approach emphasizes collaboration, compassion, and safety, creating an environment conducive to exploring the causes of distress and developing effective coping strategies. Crystal’s practice is holistic and integrative; she draws from a variety of theoretical frameworks to tailor therapy to each individual's specific needs. By linking present stressors with past experiences, she provides valuable insights and corrective emotional experiences that empower her clients to harness their inherent strengths. Utilizing the therapeutic relationship, she focuses on processing emotions and refining skills in assertiveness, communication, empathy, and mindfulness. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of issues, including trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, body image, and racial identity development. Crystal's rich clinical background includes extensive work in Community Mental Health settings and University Counseling Centers across the Midwest and East Coast. Additionally, she has imparted her knowledge as a former instructor for Masters and Doctoral psychology students at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and held the position of Director of Behavioral Health Training at Center on Halsted.
