The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Champaign, IL, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates and educators committed to creating a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Our program offers fellows an immersive six-month experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they receive hands-on training in organic food systems, empowering them to lead initiatives like community gardens, farmer's markets, and health-focused educational sessions. We aim to enhance food access and support community food coalition activities without charging tuition, ensuring that our fellowship remains accessible to all. After their initial training, fellows continue their impactful work during a Community Action Year, partnering with local non-profits to apply their knowledge and skills in diverse, real-world settings. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
