Kara Olimene

Kara Olimene, LCSW, is the passionate co-owner and therapist at Olimene Counseling Services, Inc. With a commitment to bringing positive change to the behavioral health landscape, she is dedicated to assisting individuals and families in achieving emotional wellness and stability. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago with a master’s degree, Kara has also completed her undergraduate studies at Carthage College in Wisconsin. Her impressive background includes over a decade of experience in crisis intervention within a behavioral health hospital, where she served as both therapist and manager. Kara specializes in addressing eating disorders, self-injury, trauma, and women's issues such as anxiety and depression spurred by life changes or environmental stressors. Additionally, she holds a wealth of experience supporting older adults facing depression, anxiety, or chronic health challenges. Employing a diverse range of therapeutic techniques—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, motivational interviewing, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy—Kara fosters a dynamic treatment environment where both patient and therapist are actively engaged to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes.
