Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Belleville, IL, is dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system through hands-on training and empowerment of emerging leaders. This diverse program enables selected Fellows to immerse themselves in organic food system education at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, without any tuition costs, ensuring accessibility for all. Fellows engage in a transformative six-month experiential study, learning to cultivate and distribute diversified crops, provide innovative health education, and support local food initiatives such as farmers markets and community gardens. Following their training, participants embark on a Community Action Year to implement their skills in collaboration with regional non-profits, promoting food justice, ecological literacy, and enhanced access to healthy foods. Applications for this impactful fellowship must be completed by March, with the program running from May to October each year.
