Located in Barrington, IL, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to nurturing future leaders in sustainable agriculture and food advocacy. This esteemed program sponsors, trains, and empowers individuals to be effective teachers and advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through hands-on experiences at the Allegheny Farm Campus in Highland County, VA, Fellows engage in comprehensive organic food system education while participating in transformative community initiatives. With no tuition fees, we ensure accessibility to all aspiring Fellows, allowing them to cultivate diversified crops, support local farmers' markets, and integrate food and ecological literacy into educational programs. The Fellowship includes a six-month immersive training followed by a Community Action Year, where participants apply their skills in partnership with regional non-profits. Applications are welcome until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
