Sara Ryerson

Sara Ryerson is a warm, engaging, and compassionate licensed clinical social worker and therapist. With a deep love for her work, she has had the privilege of supporting numerous individuals as they navigate their most challenging experiences. Sara believes strongly in the resiliency of the human spirit and ensures that her clients leave sessions with practical tools to manage life's stressors effectively. She is trained in Brainspotting, a powerful and efficient therapy tailored to alleviate symptoms of trauma and other neurophysiological difficulties. Certified as a Perinatal Mental Health professional, Sara specializes in assisting clients through infertility, pregnancy, infant loss, postpartum adjustments, and various mood disorders. Her practice welcomes both women and men dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, and significant life changes. Sara is highly regarded in her community, with many referrals coming from former clients and a strong network of local OB/GYNs, psychiatrists, and family practitioners. Additionally, she has contributed to the training of future professionals as a field instructor for graduate students from Loyola University Chicago and other universities, embracing the belief that learning is a lifelong journey.
