The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Algonquin, IL empowers aspiring leaders to advocate for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Through immersive training at the Allegheny Farm, selected Fellows engage in a holistic curriculum focused on organic food systems, gaining hands-on experience in growing diverse crops, maintaining community gardens, and implementing educational programs that promote food and ecological literacy. The Fellowship aligns with regional non-profit organizations to foster innovative healthcare initiatives, support farmers markets, and develop channels for increased access to healthy foods. With no tuition fees, AMI promotes accessibility for all those passionate about food justice. The fellowship includes a six-month experiential residency, culminating in a Community Action Year where Fellows apply their learnings to make a tangible impact in their communities. To join this transformative program, applications are welcome until March, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
