Annette Mershimer

Annette Mershimer is a registered mental health counselor intern committed to guiding individuals through their emotional challenges. Understanding that emotions can often feel overwhelming and uncontrollable, she provides a compassionate and safe environment for her clients to explore their feelings of being trapped or helpless. Annette’s approach emphasizes collaboration, as she works with clients to regain control, hope, and a sense of self. Utilizing the past as a blueprint for navigating the future, she believes in a holistic approach to healing that recognizes the interconnectedness of mind and body. Annette specializes in trauma, abuse, emotional dysregulation, and relational issues, and is trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities including EMDR, Trauma Processing Model, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Grief and Trauma Intervention (GTI). As a certified Prepare & Enrich Facilitator, she also employs Brief Solution-Focused Therapy. In a world where many have experienced pain, grief, or stress—especially in the wake of COVID—Annette offers a listening ear and effective strategies to help clients confront their challenges. Through their time together, clients can expect to feel more whole, more capable, and better equipped to manage life's complexities.
