Jaki Neering, MSW, is a compassionate Registered Social Worker Intern who adopts a loving and progressive approach to therapy, particularly focusing on the LGBTQIA+ community, which includes lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual individuals. A graduate of Barry University in 2016 with a Master in Social Work, Jaki emphasizes the importance of trauma-informed interventions that recognize human vulnerability while promoting individual strengths, resources, and the capacity for healing and recovery. With a passion for empowering marginalized populations, she dedicates her practice to serving individuals grappling with substance use issues and mental health challenges, particularly those within the LGBTQIA+ spectrum who are facing alcoholism and drug addiction. Jaki specializes in assisting clients to articulate their voices and advocates strongly for their self-expression. As part of a healing community at InspireRecovery.com for the Queer & Trans community, she provides LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapy tailored to address the specific needs surrounding issues like Gender Dysphoria and body dysmorphia. Jaki collaborates with her clients to connect them with medical professionals for hormone therapy, viewing this as a fundamental human right. She addresses external influences such as homophobia, transphobia, and heterosexism, and their impacts on mental well-being. In her therapeutic environment, Jaki fosters a loving, affirming, and empowering atmosphere conducive to recovery from substance use disorders, guiding clients toward self-acceptance and dignity. She believes that everyone deserves respect and affirmation in their journey to recover and thrive free from addiction.
