Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in The Villages, FL, provides a transformative opportunity for individuals passionate about creating a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, our Fellowship empowers participants through comprehensive training in organic food systems without any tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Over six months, selected Fellows engage in hands-on, experiential education at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health care education, and maintain vibrant school and community gardens. Our program emphasizes food and ecological literacy in schools, supports farmers markets, and fosters the development of efficient distribution channels for healthy foods. Following their fellowship, participants embark on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge with regional non-profit organizations. We encourage those interested to apply by March for a rewarding experience that runs from May to October, as we work together to enhance food access and equity in our community.
