Shannon Rice

Saint Petersburg, FL US
Shannon Rice believes that the human experience is rich, messy, and complex. Our experiences significantly color how individuals relate to and navigate the world. As a therapist, she supports clients in re-establishing contact with the present moment by creating conditions that encourage a deeper understanding and integration of the past, allowing them to engage more fully with what is happening now. By cultivating awareness and connecting with the body and senses, clients can experience greater ease, joy, and health in their relationships. Shannon holds a strong belief in the healing power of humor, both in and out of the therapy room, and empowers individuals to realize the freedom they possess. Her training is rooted in Buddhist psychology, and as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), she is well-equipped to help clients integrate both relational and acute trauma through a somatic lens. Shannon is also trained in PACT therapy, guiding couples to explore earlier attachment imprints, enhancing their communication skills, and fostering a deeper understanding of themselves and their partners. With profound reverence for the human experience, she celebrates the wisdom and health that clients bring to therapy. Recognizing that social identities greatly influence personal experiences, Shannon actively incorporates a conscious, social justice perspective into her therapeutic practice. She eagerly anticipates the opportunity to meet new clients and walk alongside them on their journey.
