Michael Blackston

Michael Blackston is a compassionate counselor with a passion for helping others find wholeness in every aspect of life. Through a relational and practical approach, he works with individuals and couples addressing a wide array of issues, including relationship challenges, gender identity, masculinity and femininity, trauma and sexual abuse recovery, as well as depression and anxiety. Michael also provides support to men dealing with sexual integrity issues and facilitates workshops for Every Man's Battle with New Life Ministries across the country. Trained in EMDR, he effectively treats past disturbing events that may impact an individual’s functioning. While recognizing the allure of quick-fix solutions, Michael understands that people are created with both complexity and mystery. Consequently, he focuses on exploring clients' core beliefs and past wounds, rather than merely addressing surface symptoms. Sensitive to each client's faith journey, he offers counseling from a Christian perspective, believing that true healing occurs as individuals discover their place in God's unique design for their lives. Michael remains current in both secular and Christian counseling fields, employing a diverse array of proven therapeutic interventions.
