Marina Smerling

Marina Smerling, an LMFT, is dedicated to offering compassionate, collaborative support for new moms, women, and couples. She understands the immense challenges that many mothers face, including postpartum anxiety, depression, and the overwhelming nature of motherhood that can lead to a loss of self-determination. Marina is skilled at helping new(ish) moms cultivate compassion for themselves amidst feelings of failure, find value in their own needs, and rediscover their sense of self. Also working with intelligent, self-aware women facing anxiety, depression, and self-doubt, she empowers them to find calm, center, and self-trust during life's transitions, assisting them in becoming their own radical allies and best friends. In addition, Marina supports couples who may feel more like strangers than friends, whose communication has suffered under the weight of tension. Through a focus on empathy, mindfulness, and skill-building, she passionately helps couples to rekindle their partnership, rebuild mutual trust, and foster empowerment in their communication. As a mother, marriage therapist, and Certified Nonviolent Communication (NVC) Trainer, Marina has guided countless women, moms, and couples towards becoming better allies to themselves and each other, enabling them to advocate for their needs and to forge honest, authentic, and connecting relationships.
