Ivan Porto

Ivan Porto is a dedicated couples and partnership therapist who aims to understand the perspective of each partner within the relationship, facilitating effective communication that fosters deeper understanding. He does not impose preconceived notions of what a relationship should look like or take sides; instead, he walks alongside couples as they navigate challenges such as communication, intimacy, infidelity, family and life transitions, and cultural and linguistic differences. With a passion for exploring partners’ families of origin and various identities, Ivan recognizes how these elements impact both individual and shared lives. He serves adult couples from their early 20s to late 60s, including multicultural partnerships and those with members identifying across the sexual orientation and gender identity spectrum. Utilizing Narrative Therapy, Family Therapy, Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method, Ivan is committed to creating a safe, anti-racist space that supports the LGBTQIA+ and disabled communities. Ivan honors the varying needs and identities of his clients, accompanying them on their journey toward both individual fulfillment and collective wholeness.
