Michael Nias

Michael F. Nias has recently relocated to South Florida, bringing with him a wealth of experience from the University of Florida's Department of Psychiatry where he served as an assistant professor and was the primary psychotherapist at the Adult Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic. He is a legally trained and psychodynamically oriented behavioral therapist, dedicated to using evidence-based therapies to empower his clients in achieving optimal well-being. Michael specializes in supporting young adults and adults facing serious mental health challenges, including mood and personality disorders, as well as addictive behaviors. His extensive experience with athletes—ranging from college to professional levels—further enhances his practice. Emphasizing a bio-psycho-social and strengths-based approach, Michael believes in fostering maximum health and happiness for his clients. His legal expertise equips him to navigate complex mental and emotional issues related to court matters such as divorce, child custody, and co-parenting. Furthermore, his multidisciplinary background includes advanced training in evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and CISD (Critical Incident Stress Debriefing), effectively assisting clients in overcoming trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and relationship challenges.
