The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Crestview, FL, cultivates a new generation of advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through an immersive, experiential program at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, selected Fellows receive comprehensive education in organic food systems without any tuition costs, enhancing accessibility to all. This transformative six-month Fellowship empowers community-driven initiatives, enabling participants to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement health-focused educational sessions, sustain community gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy within schools. By supporting farmers markets and creating distribution channels for healthier food access, our Fellows play a pivotal role in strengthening local food systems. Following their training, they engage in a Community Action Year, partnering with regional non-profits to champion ongoing food initiatives. Applications are open until March each year, with the program running from May to October, offering a hands-on approach to meaningful change in our food landscape.
