Dr. Sheryl Silverstein is a compassionate psychologist with a PhD who specializes in child and adolescent psychotherapy as well as parent work. With over 30 years of experience, she works with children of all ages, employing play therapy techniques for younger clients to promote healing and understanding. Dr. Silverstein's insight-oriented approach focuses on deep, meaningful therapeutic processes. Her extensive clinical background spans inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings, ensuring a broad spectrum of expertise in addressing emotional disturbances, trauma, anxiety, and behavioral issues, among others. In addition to her work with children and adolescents, she also offers adult psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, making her practice a welcoming space for various therapeutic needs. Currently, Dr. Silverstein serves on the Clinical Faculty at Yale University, where she supervises psychiatry residents on long-term psychotherapy cases. As an Adult Psychoanalyst and a Candidate at the Western New England Institute for Psychoanalysis, she is also training to become a child analyst. Her notable experience includes orchestrating the Adolescent Day Hospital at Yale New Haven Hospital from July 2015 to September 2016, equipping parents and children with the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges effectively.
