Patricia Cunningham, LCPC, understands that marriage and family relationships can be both a profound source of joy and an avenue for pain. She recognizes that significant relationships often take a backseat amid the demands of careers and life's challenges. In today’s world, parents face unprecedented challenges in raising healthy, happy children, while individuals grapple with personal struggles such as depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, mood swings, low self-esteem, grief, loss, and life transitions. Patricia provides extra support as a trained, confidential, and non-judgmental counselor, welcoming clients of all gender identities and orientations. Her mindful approach, shaped by decades of experience with individuals, couples, and families, enables her to assist clients in managing anxiety and depression, as well as borderline personality disorder. Patricia employs a blend of mindfulness and DBT skills, along with somatic and creative therapies. With couples, she utilizes Gottman, Imago, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and she is a trained facilitator in the Prepare/Enrich program. Inspired by the Sufi poet Rumi, Patricia believes that ‘the wound is the place where the light enters you.’ She is committed to helping clients discover their capacity for healing, resilience, and joy. Within a comfortable and compassionate setting, clients can gain new tools for living, listen to their hearts’ truth, and clear space for the life they dream of living.
