The HVCC Food Pantry stands as a vital emergency food resource for the residents of Vernon Rockville, Tolland, and Ellington, ensuring that those facing food insecurity have access to essential nourishment without cost. We provide a variety of food items including fresh produce and bread, tailored to accommodate family size and needs. Our offerings extend beyond food assistance; we also run a children's snack program for before- and after-school care, conduct workshops aimed at enhancing the quality of life for low-income families, and connect clients with energy assistance resources. Additionally, we support victims of fire or domestic abuse by supplying food, clothing, and household essentials to help them rebuild their lives. Seniors in Vernon receive dedicated support as well. Food is distributed on a first come, first served basis, and we encourage eligible individuals to engage with our case manager for eligibility assessment and to schedule intake meetings. Clients may enjoy shopping on a weekly basis and are reminded to bring a photo ID and bags to carry their groceries.
