Susan Ottenheimer is a seasoned Clinical Social Worker and Therapist with over 40 years of experience in the field. A graduate of the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work, she has previously served on the faculty at Yale School of Medicine and has worked with a diverse clientele across various settings, ranging from pre-teens to older adults, addressing a multitude of issues such as mood disorders, anxiety, relationship problems, and weight management. Susan is committed to developing supportive, trusting relationships with her clients, guiding them to gain clarity on their struggles and empowering them to lead more fulfilling and productive lives. With training in psychodynamic theory and family systems approaches, paired with cognitive and behavioral strategies—including stress management techniques involving diet and exercise—Susan takes a contextual view of each individual's challenges. She is dedicated to helping clients understand their interpersonal and intrapsychic conflicts while considering the influence of their historical family systems and organizational dynamics.
