Desmon Wise is a licensed professional counselor and LMSW dedicated to helping individuals embrace their self-care and mental wellbeing. Recognizing that the journey toward finding a therapist can be particularly challenging for people of color and members of the LGBTQIA+ community, he provides a welcoming and affirming environment. Many individuals may experience feelings such as anxiety, anger, or loneliness, which can manifest as stress in their everyday lives, including at work or within personal relationships. Desmon acknowledges that therapy can sometimes feel uncomfortable or financially burdensome; hence, he is structured and intentional in the therapeutic techniques and tools he employs. Drawing from his lived experiences as a gay Black male and a Veteran, he cultivates a safe, non-judgmental space. Desmon integrates mindfulness, meditation, and various holistic practices into his approach, helping clients break free from societal norms and embrace their authentic selves. His understanding of unique, trauma-ridden experiences allows clients to feel genuinely understood and supported on their healing journeys.
