Meals on Wheels, part of Community Renewal Team, is dedicated to providing nourishing meals and essential support to medically homebound seniors in Ellington, CT, and surrounding areas, including Middlesex, Tolland, and Hartford counties. Our program delivers healthy lunches right to the doorsteps of those in need, ensuring that seniors receive not just sustenance but also friendly volunteer check-ins for added connection. Special dietary needs are carefully accommodated, and while we suggest a donation of $3.00 per meal to help offset costs, we ensure that no one is turned away for lack of funds. Referrals can be made by doctors, hospitals, and local social service agencies, with a quick interview or home visit to determine eligibility, followed by meal delivery typically starting within two days of approval. We strive to enhance the quality of life for our seniors through consistent, compassionate care and reliable food assistance.
