The HVCC Food Pantry serves as a vital emergency food assistance resource for the residents of Ellington, Vernon, and Tolland, Connecticut. We offer free food, fresh produce, and bread, carefully tailored to meet the needs of families based on their size. Our pantry also features a children's snack program for before and after school, workshops aimed at enhancing the lives of low-income families, and referrals to energy assistance programs. Additionally, we provide essential food, clothing, and household items to individuals recovering from fire or abuse, helping them to rebuild their lives. Seniors in Vernon also find dedicated food support through our programs. We distribute food on a first-come, first-served basis, ensuring equity in access based on availability and family size. To check your eligibility for our services, simply reach out for an intake meeting with our case manager. Clients can shop weekly, and we kindly ask everyone to bring their photo ID and bags for their food haul.
