Located in Cheshire, CT, the Diabetes Prevention Program is dedicated to empowering individuals, particularly within the low-literate and predominantly Latino community, to lead healthier lives. Our 12-week Intensive Lifestyle Intervention features weekly one-hour classes focused on nutrition education, cooking demonstrations, and hands-on experiences that incorporate fresh produce from our garden. Each session is designed not only to provide vital information but also to foster a supportive environment where families can learn together. With an emphasis on community engagement, participants often attend in groups, bringing their family members to share in the journey towards better health. Concurrent exercise classes for adults and age-appropriate activities for children ensure that everyone can participate in a holistic approach to diabetes prevention and management.
