Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a dedicated nutrition program located in USAF Academy, CO, designed to support pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as children under the age of five, by providing essential food assistance and vital resources for healthy development. Our mission is to empower families with personalized nutrition consultations, breastfeeding support, and access to nutritious groceries at no cost to those who qualify. WIC also offers valuable referrals to medical and dental care, health insurance, and other necessary services to ensure the well-being of the whole family. With a focus on nutrition education, we guide participants through meal planning, healthy weight maintenance, and balancing nutrition while budgeting, addressing the unique challenges faced by each family. Eligible participants include Colorado residents who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have young children with income levels below the established guidelines, including those already receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Food Stamps, or Medicaid, as well as foster children. To join WIC and receive these critical services, please reach out to your local WIC clinic for assistance.
