Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) in Rifle, CO, is dedicated to enhancing the health and nutrition of local families by providing essential services to pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as children under the age of five. Our Special Supplemental Nutrition Program offers free nutritious groceries, personalized nutrition consultations, and comprehensive breastfeeding support to those who qualify, ensuring that families receive the resources needed for healthy growth and development. In addition to food assistance, we connect families with vital services including health care, child care, and lactation support. Our education programs cover vital topics such as meal planning, managing picky eaters, and breastfeeding while working, all designed to empower families to make informed nutritional choices. To qualify for WIC, residents of Colorado must meet specific income guidelines and have a child under 5 or be pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Food Stamps, or Medicaid, you are automatically eligible for WIC benefits, and foster children under age 5 are also welcome to enroll.
