At Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) in Palisade, CO, we are dedicated to nurturing the well-being of families by providing essential food assistance, nutrition education, and breastfeeding support at no cost to those who qualify. Our mission is to promote healthy pregnancies and early childhood development by offering personalized nutrition consultations, resources on breastfeeding, and financial help for nutritious groceries that complement what families may already purchase. Additionally, WIC connects families to vital medical and dental care, health insurance, child care, and housing services, creating a supportive community network that benefits everyone. We educate on important topics, such as meal planning, managing picky eaters, and balancing work with breastfeeding. Eligibility for WIC includes living in Colorado, being pregnant or breastfeeding, or having a child under five years, with a family income that meets our guidelines. Those receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Food Stamps, or Medicaid are automatically eligible, as are foster children under age five.
