Stephen Harvey

Stephen Harvey is an intern at Stacy Ruse Counseling Group (SRCG), where he works under the supervision of Kim Koditek, LCSW. He benefits from the supportive environment offered by the Senior Staff, gaining valuable training and ongoing consultation. Currently enrolled in the graduate program at Colorado State University (CSU), he is pursuing a Master of Social Work (MSW) and aims to transition this internship into a full-time position as he works towards his LSW and LCSW in Colorado. Stephen is dedicated to honing his skills in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), along with progressive trauma-informed care. He actively participates in facilitating several DBT Skills Groups and sees clients both online and at the Longmont location. With a particular interest in supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, veterans, first responders, as well as student and professional athletes, he is passionate about empowering individuals to thrive in their daily lives through effective coping strategies for emotional processing, trauma recovery, and overcoming addiction. In his downtime, Stephen enjoys engaging with friends, exploring new hobbies, playing video games, and prioritizing self-care. He is often described by those around him as transparent, relatable, and approachable, traits that enable him to create a safe and understanding space for his clients.
