Susan Smith provides compassionate psychotherapy to individuals and families facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, adoption, attachment issues, trauma, and grief. Her expertise and passion lie in supporting individual adults, young children (ages 0-6), and their parents. While she primarily employs Internal Family Systems (IFS) in her practice, she is also well-versed in Infant Mental Health, Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), EMDR Therapy, Jungian Sandplay Therapy, and Energy Medicine. This diverse skill set allows her to nurture clients' spiritual growth when desired. Through evidence-based approaches, Susan assists adults with relationship issues, complex PTSD, life transitions, and various emotional difficulties. For children, her utilization of IFS, Play Therapy, Sandplay, and EMDR Therapies offers pathways for integrating their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, while promoting healthy identity formation. Her overarching goal is to foster Self-Leadership for each client by cultivating emotionally safe, healing, and growth-oriented spaces. She believes that navigating painful life challenges is a normal part of the human experience, and emphasizes the importance of not facing these struggles alone.
