Dr. Myriam Savage is a narrative-trained drama therapist who adopts a person-centered approach in her work. She skillfully facilitates individuals, families, and groups, both in corporate and educational settings. Through a collaborative process, clients embark on a journey of re-authoring their problem-saturated life narratives, exploring expressive therapies that promote an embodied, cognitive, safe, and creative experience. Dr. Savage aims to restore the whole person, focusing her expertise on critical areas such as self-identity, foster care, adoption, rehabilitation, adolescence, anxiety, trauma, multiculturalism, and social skills. Her approach nurtures clients through meaningful talk, discovery, and recovery, building rapport grounded in drama therapy and positive psychology. Utilizing various modalities—mindfully employing role play, role reversal, movement, sandplay, puppet play, artwork, music, poetry, journaling, dreamwork, masks, and sensory exploration—Dr. Savage creates a gestalt, experiential, and safe environment to address diverse personal challenges. She encourages individuals to embrace their birthright of joy under her guidance. Additionally, as a faculty member of the UCLArts and Healing Social Emotional Arts (SEA) program, an adjunct at several universities, and the director of her drama therapy school, she trains professionals on how to facilitate healing for both children and adults. A member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA, Dr. Savage also collaborates with industry professionals. Her commitment is to help clients find their light.
