Kids NOW Food Program

In San Mateo, CA, the Kids NOW Food Program is dedicated to alleviating the stress of weekend food insecurity faced by low-income families. Recognizing that while children receive nutritious meals during the school week, the weekends pose a significant challenge, we partner with Second Harvest Food Bank to provide essential nutrition assistance for children and teens. Established in 2010, this program ensures that families can access supplemental food every Thursday, year-round. Each week, volunteers repack healthy groceries, offering one bag per child aged 18 or younger at no cost, catering to their nutritional needs. Our mission is to foster a supportive community where every child can thrive, addressing immediate needs with compassion and care.
