Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program

The Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program in Oakland, CA, is dedicated to fostering healthy nutrition for families with young children. We provide comprehensive nutrition education, individualized counseling, and group classes aimed at promoting healthy eating habits among pregnant and breastfeeding women and parents of infants and children under five. Our supportive services include breastfeeding assistance, referrals for health insurance and medical care, dental health classes, and education on immunizations. WIC also issues checks enabling families to purchase nutritious food from local grocery stores, along with seasonal summer checks for fresh produce at Farmers Markets. We extend our welcome to foster parents, guardians, and single fathers with custody of their children.
