The General Assistance Program in Oakland, CA, is committed to empowering indigent adults and emancipated minors who are legal residents of Alameda County by providing essential financial support. Our program offers maximum cash grants of $336 per month for individuals, along with food stamp benefits of up to $200 per month, ensuring that vulnerable community members have access to basic needs. We also facilitate employment services to help those who are employable transition to financial independence, allowing cash aid for only three full months in a year under these circumstances. However, we recognize the unique needs of our community and provide exceptions for individuals who are permanently disabled, former foster care youth aged 18 to 24, and seniors aged 64 and older.
