Wise and Well Heart Smart Program

The Emanuel Friedman Wise and Well Heart Smart Program in Daly City, CA, is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of older adults, specifically targeting low-income and minority seniors aged 60 and above in San Mateo County. Our mission is to address the critical health challenges faced by these communities, particularly heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes. We offer free, accessible health screening services alongside vital education to empower seniors to better manage their health. Participants can benefit from monthly drop-in screenings, personalized one-on-one counseling with a registered nurse, and engaging classes focused on managing risk factors for chronic conditions and nutrition. Additionally, our annual Wellness Advantage health screening provides comprehensive assessments, including cholesterol profiles, blood pressure, blood glucose levels, and body mass index evaluations. Appointment registration is required for screenings and classes at our Wise & Well Heart Smart senior center, as we aim to create a caring environment for our community's older residents.
