Women, Infants & Children Program (WIC)

The Women, Infants & Children Program (WIC) in Chico, CA is dedicated to fostering healthy food choices for low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as for infants and children from birth to five years old. Our program provides essential food assistance through monthly benefits for nutritious foods, offers tailored nutrition education that aligns with each child’s developmental stage, and includes breastfeeding support to ensure mothers receive the guidance they need. Additionally, WIC promotes access to fresh produce by issuing special checks for use at local farmers' markets during the summer months. We also connect families with other vital community and healthcare resources. Although our offices are currently closed due to COVID-19, the Butte County Public Health Department is committed to serving you by scheduling appointments and conducting interviews over the phone, ensuring that support is always within reach.
