Joanne Sorenson is a dedicated therapist who helps others discover the love and joy innate to their own souls. With over 40 years of experience as a clinical social worker, she has worked in schools, hospices, treatment centers, spas, community health centers, and her own private practice. Throughout her journey, she has honed numerous skills through various trainings, yet she firmly believes that love is the greatest medicine. After retiring and relinquishing her license (28 years with no board complaints), Joanne felt a calling to focus on sharing her unique skills and encouragement with an emphasis on psycho/spiritual transformation. She believes there is a divine light in every individual and seeks to help illuminate that light together. Grounded in Virginia Satir's Human Validation Models, her foundational approach assists individuals in understanding their inner psychological dynamics, recognizing that 'psyche' means human soul, mind, or spirit. Joanne also enjoys teaching and speaking publicly about the Human Validation Models, integrating guided role play as one of her special strategies. Her mission involves providing skills to integrate fear, anger, and sadness, transforming them into love, joy, peace, and harmony. With a belief that humor can be a powerful healing tool, she emphasizes the importance of authenticity and practicing what she teaches. Working by appointment or through serendipity, Joanne invites those who resonate with her message to give themselves permission to explore their journey.
