Karissa Whitlatch

Mesa, AZ US
Karissa Whitlatch believes that everyone is inherently equipped with the strengths and resources needed to heal from past hurts and traumas. However, individuals can sometimes find themselves feeling stuck. This is where therapy can make a significant difference, guiding clients in developing and utilizing their innate capabilities. Seeing a therapist doesn't require a diagnosis of a 'major disorder.' Whether someone is dealing with stress, family dynamics, parenting issues, past traumas, anxiety, depression, or other challenges, their story is valued and matters. Karissa understands that our bodies and minds are beautifully designed to heal, grow, and transform, allowing individuals to live intentionally, build resilience, and foster healthy relationships. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from Phoenix Seminary and is trained in trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, and domestic violence support and treatment. Karissa's therapeutic approach is person-centered, body-focused, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. She emphasizes open communication, encouraging clients to express what works best for them within therapy. Additionally, she is receptive to integrating faith into sessions as desired. Karissa's mission is to walk alongside clients, helping them rediscover the tools and strengths they possess to embrace their future story.
