Senior Farmers Markets Nutrition Program (SFMNP)

The Senior Farmers Markets Nutrition Program (SFMNP) in El Mirage, AZ is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of low-income seniors by providing access to fresh, nutritious produce and local agricultural products. Through our program, qualifying seniors receive SFMNP vouchers that can be redeemed for unprepared fruits, vegetables, honey, and herbs at authorized farmers markets and roadside stands. Additionally, we offer Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) boxes as an alternative to vouchers, ensuring seniors have access to wholesome food options. Each year, eligible participants can obtain a booklet with up to six vouchers or up to three CSA boxes, depending on available funding, facilitating their ability to enjoy locally sourced, healthy foods. Voucher distribution typically begins February 1st each year, although this date may vary based on seasonal availability, and we encourage interested seniors to reach out to authorized distributors to learn more about the program.
