Diabetes Self-Management Education/Training (DSME)

Located in Coolidge, AZ, the Diabetes Self-Management Education/Training (DSME) program at the Sun Health Center for Health & Wellbeing is dedicated to empowering individuals living with diabetes. Our accredited program, recognized by the American Association of Diabetes Educators, spans five weeks and equips participants with essential skills to manage their condition effectively and prevent complications. Key topics covered include understanding diabetes, healthy eating, physical activity, monitoring blood sugar, medication management, problem-solving strategies, healthy coping methods, and risk reduction. The DSME program is accessible through Medicare and most insurance plans, with a physician referral necessary for enrollment. We offer multiple sessions throughout the year, ensuring that support is available when you need it, and scholarships may be available to help with costs.
