Seniors Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP)

The Seniors Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) in Hazel Green, AL, is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of low-income seniors aged 60 and above by providing crucial food assistance through vouchers. Administered by the Alabama Department of Agriculture & Industries, this program allows seniors to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, and fresh-cut herbs directly from local farmers at approved farmers markets and roadside stands. Participants receive their food vouchers by mail, which are valid until November 15 of the calendar year issued.
