Seniors Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP)

The Seniors Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) in Gulf Shores, AL, is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of low-income seniors aged 60 and older by providing food assistance through coupons that support the purchase of fresh, nutritious foods. Administered by the Alabama Department of Agriculture & Industries, this program enables seniors to enjoy locally grown fruits, vegetables, honey, and fresh-cut herbs directly from farmers at approved farmers markets and roadside stands. Eligible participants receive food vouchers by mail, which must be used by November 15 of the year issued, ensuring that our senior community has access to healthy food options while also supporting local agriculture.
