The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, offered by the Tallapoosa County Health Department in Alexander City and Dadeville, is committed to promoting better health for mothers and their children. WIC provides essential nutrition education, access to supplemental foods such as milk, eggs, cheese, juices, cereals, and baby foods, as well as breastfeeding support and resources, including breast pumps when available. Families eligible for Medicaid, food stamps, and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) are automatically income-qualified for WIC services.
